Jim began as a volunteer and fundraiser for Constru Casa in 2008 leading to his founding of Friends of Constru Casa in 2012. Retired after a career as an architect, Jim is quick to claim his time in Guatemala as the most meaningful years of his life. During his first meeting with Carolina Van Heerde, the founder of Constru Casa and discovering its mission, he declared, “you may have a hard time getting rid of me”, which has proved to be prescient. Having spent two years living in Guatemala with his wife, Tina, they now reside in Santa Fe, NM where he enjoys painting, hiking and tennis.
