A native of Crete, NE, John Lothrop has retired twice – first as a Systems Engineer for AT&T Bell Laboratories then as the Vice President for Advancement at Doane University. In his retirement, John has developed a passion for helping provide people with livable housing. He served on two mission trips to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota to build bunk beds and rehabilitate homes. John has also been instrumental in organizing Hope House of Sedona as a non-profit organization to provide temporary transitional housing for homeless families with children.

In 2012, John helped organize his first trip to Guatemala to work with Constru Casa and has gone back annually since then. He finds great satisfaction in helping make a positive difference in people’s lives.

John and his wife Gale currently reside in Sedona, AZ.
