Around 30% of Guatemalan households do not have access to basic services such as potable water and sanitation. These precarious housing conditions contribute to the perpetuation of the poverty cycle and negatively affect the quality of life of many families in the country.
In Guatemala, access to adequate housing is a significant challenge, with approximately 59% of the population living in overcrowded conditions, according to the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Many of our families have reported feeling more secure in their new homes, which provide protection against various threats, including natural disasters such as earthquakes and inclement weather, as well as human-related risks like criminal activity.
